Descrição do itinerário
The Vía Ferrata Escarrilla in Aragón (province of Huesca) is a classic beginner's route with a difficulty rating of K1, ideal for families, children, or first-timers. Originally established in 2009, it runs along a small, partly sloping rock face with about 50 meters of secured ascent and a 65-meter elevation gain. The route is short and easy – perfect for a first experience on a via ferrata.
It is a simple secured climb, not a high alpine via ferrata – there are no zip lines, bridges or overhangs. Safety equipment consists of iron steps, chains and ladders, mostly on gentle slopes.
The start is located directly on the outskirts of Escarrilla, towards France, just before the tunnel. Follow the old road for about 5 minutes until you reach the starting point at the rock face. The return route is a circular trail along a footpath past ruins and old bunkers from the Civil War. The surrounding area is scenic, close to the Río Gállego and with views of the wide valley of the Valle de Tena.
