This is the most insanely steep trail I've ever hiked. The trail's generally easy to follow, and there were few blowdowns, but it was getting overgrown by saplings in some places on the ascent. I hiked only to the false summit of Baldy, since that offered essentially the same view as the real summit. It was a pretty clear day, and I had a really nice view in all directions: Sequim, Strait of Juan de Fuca, Vancouver Island, San Juan Islands, Mt. Deception, Mt. Townsend, Mt. Constance. The route along the ridge between Baldy and Mt. Tyler is a boot path, but it wasn't too hard to follow. The descent down the Mt Tyler trail was incredibly steep too, but there were more switchbacks than on the ascent of the Baldy trail.
