The formation of the gorge is a phenomenon that took place over a long period of time. The last ice age dates back to about 50,000 years ago.
Today, the 615 acres of land belonging to the park offer a variety of activities during both the summer and winter seasons. Offers 158 camping lots in the forest, horseback riding, 17 kilometres of mountain bike trails, a mini farm, observation towers, bird watching stations, and a floral garden.
