A bike ride through the beautiful Gatineau Park that starts and ends at a small car park on Lake Fortune. This route makes use of roads, lanes and hiking trails so a mountain bike would be the preferred bicycle.
The trail takes you by road to Champlain Overlook for nice views of the Ottawa River Valley and then on a series of narrowing trails down to Meech Lake. Follow the road back along the lake, past the beach and then a hard climb back to your starting point.
It was a beautiful day, some nice scenery and was done at a casual pace. I did dismount twice due to the steepness of the climb but thoroughly enjoyed the outing. There was plenty of time for a hike, lunch and on a beautiful day you could even throw in a swim.
