Afternoon: Circular hike around Lake Bled
the afternoon, we enjoyed a circular hike of about 8 km from Bled–Rečica, taking in the full beauty of Lake Bled. The lake is famous for its emerald waters, the Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Mary (Cerkev Marijinega vnebovzetja) at its center, and Bled Castle perched 130 m above the shore. Along the trail, we saw traditional pletna boats gliding across the water, carrying visitors to the island, while the surrounding mountains reflected perfectly in the lake. The combination of the serene water, historic architecture, and alpine backdrop made it a magical setting, especially as the sun began to set, casting golden light across the scene.
